Thanks to four Piaggio P180 AVANTI II aircraft equipped with the NSM UNIFIS 3000 platform and a portable RIFIS system, ENAV can provide flight validation services for of any type of IFP, precision and non-precision, satellite-based (GNSS/SBAS) or conventional NAVAID:

IFP flight validation is performed in accordance with the methods and rules set out in ICAO Doc 9906.

IFP validation includes a wide range of activities, from ground validation to independent IFP design review and flight validation. The UNIFIS 3000 platform on the Piaggio P180 or RIFIS (Repositionable IFP Flight Inspection System) on a suitable flight validation platform can be employed to record all significant parameters for final evaluation.

We have validated hundreds of procedures and we cooperate on an ongoing basis with ENAV’s internal FPDO and with other FPDOs around the world. A flight validation report, in the format requested by our customers, will be released as the final deliverable. It will include all technical details, related parameters recorded on-board and an operational evaluation to declare the IFP usable.
