The Airspace Coordination tool provides a user-friendly web interface to support the airspace management process to be flexible to changes in airspace users’ needs. The tool enables the coordination among stakeholders and the airspace optimization to enhance capacity and performance.
The tool allows airspace reservation creation including the creation of ad-hoc temporary airspaces. It supports the evaluation of the airspace request assessing potential booking interferences both with other official structures and other reservations. An integrated (and configurable) workflow manager allows to dispatch and receive other departments’ feedback. The tool support post-analysis via a reporting capability on historical data.

The main features are:

• Airspace Reservation. The tool allows users, either internal or external, to create a reservation request both either by selecting available official airspaces or by inserting ad-hoc temporary airspace.
• Evaluation of conflicts/impacts. This capability is entitled to evaluate the impact of geo-temporal analyses between the reservation of the requested airspace and other structures (against flight procedures, airways and other airspaces). Moreover, it also allows to highlight and warn users with potential conflicts with other reservations overlapping both in space and in time.
• Approval Workflow. An approval workflow can be configured in the tool according to customer needs and organization. This allows to define workflow steps for each role, tracking feedback and remarks by other involved offices/departments.
• Awareness facilities. The tool provides users with complementary views. Calendar and timeline views are available. In addition, a map view with time slider provide awareness on airspace and related activation/deactivation events.
• NOTAM proposal pre-filling. Once a reservation is approved, can be moved to the AIM department for NOTAM issuance. The tool allows the pre-filling of a NOTAM proposal to be sent to NOTAM systems for further validation and processing.
• Reporting tool that provides on-line dashboard and human-readable reports in various formats (pdf, csv, excel)

One of the main benefits relies on a user-friendly interface to manage airspace reservation process. The operational efficiency as well airspace flexibility are other key areas where the tool aims at delivering tangible enhancements. The tool also highlights activation/deactivation events on map view in order to provides a comprehensive set of information to enhance awareness.
The Airspace Reservation tool enhances the dissemination of information by pre-filling a NOTAM proposal to be shared with NOTAM Office. 
The tool is natively integrated with other IDS AirNav applications (namely AIM Portal, CRONOS, PLX).
