d-flight and Techno Sky, ENAV Group companies, participated in the sixth edition of Amsterdam Drone Week (ADW), taking place at the RAI exhibition center in Amsterdam from 16 to 18 April.

ADW is the annual international event dedicated to Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and drones airspace management products and services, attended by leading governmental organisations and industry players.

Amsterdam Drone Week is the global platform for knowledge sharing on current solutions, potential innovations, and key regulations of the Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) industry. Meetings and expert sessions from over 50 countries worldwide were planned.

d-flight and Techno Sky  presented the activities and services related to the U-Space (the airspace dedicated to drones) realisation in Italy.

d-flight and Techno Sky experts  participated, as speakers, in some of the scheduled technical panels, in the presence of many institutional representatives and numerous companies of the sector.

During the event, an hexacopter, a specially equipped drone, has also been presented. It has obtained a ‘generic’ (applicable to an indefinite number of flights conducted in locations identified generically, e.g., single-runway airports) authorization in the 'specific' category (medium risk operations). This authorization, the first of its kind in Europe for operations in airport environments, allows for ground check of the ILS (Instrumental Landing System) and aerodrome infrastructure inspections of all single-runway airports. These operations are performed in BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line Of Sight) mode, without visual contact of the pilot.

The programme of the event also included topics related to urban air mobility and digital infrastructure, where d-flight is a major player through the provision of drone services through its platform.

The highest echelons of international organisations such as EASA, EUROCONTROL and the European Commission were present at the event.
