ENAV has partnered with Amazon, which, after launching operations in the United States, has chosen Italy as the next destination for aerial deliveries to end users
Italy will be the first European country to enable drone-based package deliveries. Amazon successfully conducted its first test flight in Abruzzo, in the San Salvo area.
This milestone was achieved thanks to the authorization and certification processes established by the relevant institutions, as well as the operational and technological support of the ENAV Group, Amazon's industrial partner.
Amazon is committed to close collaboration with regulatory authorities and local communities to establish a safe and reliable delivery service.
The experimental flight marks a significant step in a process that began at the end of 2023, with the goal of launching the service in 2025.
“We announced this to the financial community in March of this year. ENAV has not only delivered on its promise but also proven capable of matching the pace of a global giant like Amazon, which has chosen us as industrial partners for this pioneering project that opens up markets with immense potential. This achievement is yet another example of successful collaboration between companies and institutions. Italy is positioning itself as a leader in aerial mobility. After the United States, we will be the first country in the world to offer end-user aerial deliveries. We are particularly proud of the work accomplished over the past few months, which, thanks to our operational and technological expertise, has positioned us at the forefront of this extraordinary evolution. ENAV is committed to supporting projects like Amazon's, recognizing our role not just as a service provider but as a true strategic partner within an industrial framework,” said Pasqualino Monti, CEO of ENAV SpA.
